
“Bokeh” is a term for the background blur produced by the camera when the depth of field is shallow. My new macro lens yields a stupendously green and pleasing backdrop, as can be witnessed in this recent shot of a butterfly. I used a monopod and inched gradually closer, using manual focus. The picture was taken with an aperture of f/5.6 at ISO 200. There’s hardly any noise and the sharpness is pretty impressive. I think I’m getting addicted to macro photography…
